William “Bill” Strickland, age 83, of Ethelsville, AL died July 28, 2026 at his residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Trey Reece and Bro. David Blakney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Strickland; his daughter, Julia Strickland; his parents and sister, Bernice Tilley.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Barbara Jean Brownlee Strickland; daughter, Chris Jennings; son, Billy Strickland and wife, Cindy; two grandchildren, Madisen Bowles (Cody) and Emelia Reece (Jesse) and five great-grandchildren, Cale Bowles, Rayleigh Bowles, Heidi Bowles, Saylor Reece and Lydia Reece.

Bill was born June 19, 1943 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Horace Strickland and Eunice Wright Strickland. He graduated from Liberty High School and was a retired employee of General Tire/Omnova in Columbus, MS.

Pallbearers will be Ken Shirley, Jeff Seymer, Mike Jolly, Roy Baker, Bertis Schultz, Don Payne, Donnie Bowles and Aaron Dunn.

Honorary Pallbearers are Eddy Godfrey, Ken Parham, members of Mineral Springs Baptist Church, staff of ACG Hospice, Dr. Robert Honea and staff and friends and family of the Ethelsville community.
