William A. Cargile, age 66, of Gordo, AL passed away March 2, 2023 at Northport Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Randal Cargile and sister in law Joyce Latham Cargile
Survivors include his wife, Pamela A. Cargile; two daughters, Jamie Bell (Justin) and Lindsey J. Cargile and two grandchildren, MaKenzie Bell and Grayson Bell.
Bill was born May 21, 1956 at the USAF Hospital in Wiltshire County, England to the late William Otto Cargile and Thelma Stines Cargile. He was a member of the Baptist faith, a retired electronics technician, and a life long resident of Gordo, Alabama. Bill graduated from Gordo High School in 1974 and attended Shelton State Community College where he studied carpentry and electronics. He worked as a technician with NCR for 20 years and retired from the University of Alabama after 20 years as a IT Technician with the College of Engineering. In 2021, Bill fought a hard battle to beat with esophageal cancer. All the support, love, and prayers from friends and family throughout that journey and since meant the world to him. He enjoyed woodworking, music, riding motorcycles, and watching his grandchildren grow and enjoy life. He loved animals including his dog, Coco and his deceased rescue dog, Diamond. He also loved his grand dog, cat, and turtle. Per his wishes there will be no formal service or visitation. His ashes will be interred near his parents at Greenhill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to any charity that aides in animal care or rescue in his honor.
