NASHVILLE, Tenn. | William Audie "Dusty" Russell, age 83, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Aliceville, Ala., died February 23, 2014, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church of Aliceville with Dr. Tom G. Kay, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Carolyn Jean McCracken Russell; son, Thomas Westley Russell; and his parents.Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Henderson Russell of Nashville, Tenn.; daughters, KimBrelynn Russell Leard and Kristal Russell Bradford (Butch), both of Aliceville, Ala.; sons, Richard Audie Russell of Aliceville, Ala. and James Benjamin Russell (Dana) of Trophy Club, Texas; stepdaughters, Karen Elizabeth Temple and Lisa Gayle Temple, both of Franklin, Tenn.; sisters, Annie Kathryn Russell Richwine of Pensacola, Fla. and Patricia Russell Tate of Aliceville, Ala.; grandchildren, Margaret Ellen Bradford Holmes (Joseph), Burl Audie Bradford, Jacob Ray Jager and Michael Aaron Jager; honorary granddaughter, Jasmine Embree Burgess (Kyle); and great-granddaughter, Samantha Jean Holmes.Mr. Russell was born May 10, 1930 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late James Audie Russell and Annie Mae Turnipseed Russell. He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Aliceville and had moved his membership to Harpeth Heights Baptist Church in Nashville, Tenn. Dusty retired from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of Major.Pallbearers will be Mike Farmer, Dale Robbins, Rusty Tate, John Tate, Dexter Hester and Doug Basinger.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Palmer Home for Children, P.O.
