GORDO | William Lewis "John" Archibald, age 86, of Gordo, A1a., passed away September 25, 2015, at Sansing Assisted Living Facility in Carrollton, AIa._ Graveside services will be held at Mitchell Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, A1a., at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2015, with Bro. Leonard Hill officiating and Skelton Funeral| Home directing.
John was born July 18, 1929 in Pleasant Grove and Iived his entire Iife there in the same home. He served in the Army Medical Corps during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gospel music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Mae Archibald.
He is survived by two sisters, Ruth Rives and Eloise Hocutt; nieces and nephews, Max Noland, Barbara Ann Watson, Glinda Archibald, Dwayne Archibald, Carol Hocutt, JoJo Brooks, Molly Alesi, Clay Rives, Nancy Cooper and Jim Rives.
John will be greatly missed by his friends; Clay and Florea Sansing, members of Mitchell Bluff Hunting Club, residents of Pleasant Grove and members of Souls Chapel Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mitchell Cemetery Fund at First National Bank of Central Alabama.
