Obituary

REFORM | William Earlie Martin, age 85, of Reform, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 at home. Services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brannon Pinion, Bro. Billy Jones, and Bro. Tim Meherg officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by his parents.Survivors include his daughters, Tammy Martin Jones (Billy), and Cynthia D. Nichols; son, Timothy Earl Martin (Lisa); sister, Betty Martin Pritchett (John G.); brother, Ralph Martin; four grandsons, Kenneth Earl Martin, Sgt. John Addison Jones (Danielle), Caleb Martin Jones (Lauren), and Bradley Lann; six granddaughters, Stacey Martin Smith (Jerry), Damaris Ranae Jones, Julie Brazeal Summers, Vonda Brazeal Dean (Gary), Brandy Brazeal Keating (Jamie), and Amanda Lann; six great-granddaughters, ten great-grandsons, two great-great granddaughters, three great-great grandsons, and a number of nieces and nephews.Mr. Martin was born January 23, 1930 in Gordo, Alabama to the late James Edgar ""Red"" Martin and Mertice Hannah Martin. He was a member of Reform First Baptist Church, a retired employee of General Tire in Columbus, Miss., a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the VFW. A lifelong resident of Pickens County, Earlie was a loving father, grandfather, brother and kind friend to all he knew. He enjoyed spending time with his family, greeting family and friends at Jack's, attending church and riding the country roads looking for wild flowers. He will be greatly missed by all.Pallbearers will be Kenneth Earl Martin, Sgt. John A. Jones, USMC, Caleb Martin Jones, Jeremy Smith, Jeff Martin and Mike Martin.Honorary pallbearers are great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to Reform First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 100, Reform, Ala. 35481.
