TUSCALOOSA | William F. ""Frank"" McDowell, age 74, of Tuscaloosa died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with his cousin, Rev. David Hanson officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends following the service at his residence.
He is preceded in death by his parents and infant brother.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Linda Pennington McDowell of Tuscaloosa; son, Gregory Pennington McDowell of Tuscaloosa; sister, Sibbie Pate and husband, Randall of Gordo; brother, James Larry McDowell and wife, Barbara of Alva, Fla.; and two nephews, John and Michael McDowell.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1940 in Gordo, Ala. to the late John William McDowell and Mary Godfrey McDowell. He was a member of Gordo First Baptist Church, a retired employee of Sentell Engineering in Tuscaloosa, a U.S. Navy veteran and a well known resident of Pickens and Tuscaloosa Counties. He was a cherished husband, admired father, loved brother, and respected man.
