Willie Marion Dunn "Pawpa", age 94, of Brierfield, AL ran into the arms of Jesus on Friday, February 10, 2023. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, February 13, 2023 at Wilton Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Sherrell officiating. Burial will follow in Moores Cemetery in Montevallo with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Jones Dunn; his parents; brother, John Dunn and sister, Catherine Penton.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Josie Dunn Horton and her husband, David and a son, Lynn Dunn.
Willie was born August 6, 1928 in Talladega Springs, Alabama to the late John and Effie Dunn. He was a cattle farmer, business owner of the Service Cleaners for over 30 years, an avid outdoorsman and an excellent shot bird hunter. Willie was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He loved Gospel singings and was once a director for the Alabama State Gospel Convention. Above all, he was a saved man who loved the Lord; making his passing a bitter sweet rejoicing.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Hogge, Randy Johnson, Justin Crim, Jimmy Coleman, Darryl Burns and Walt Williams.
The family would like to thank Hospice of West Alabama and Arbor Woods Health & Rehab for their compassionate care.
