Willie Gene Ferguson, age 86, of Reform, AL died June 25, 2026 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, July 6, 2026 at New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lovie Joyce Brazil Ferguson; his parents; sisters, Irene Kyles, Margie Ridgeway and Christine Bailey; brothers, Curtis Ferguson, John Ferguson and Doug Ferguson; granddaughter, Alisha Marie Sims Eaves; great-grandson, Gunner Riley Sims and son-in-law, William Odis Sims, Jr.
Survivors include his daughters, Cherrie Sims of Reform and Brenda Stevens (Michael) of Pickensville; son, Keith Ferguson (Mariah) of Reform; brother, Marvin Ferguson of Reform; sisters, Kathleen Black, Elaine Thomas, Leila Morgan (Bob), all of Reform, Diane Parsons (Billy) and Janice Taylor of Columbus, MS; six grandchildren, Ben Sims (Sherry), Harley Bowers (Dylan), Brian Ferguson (Brooke), Matthew Sims, Faith Junkin (Caleb) and Triston Stevens (Elizabeth); seven great-grandchildren, Kamden Sims, Jakob Eaves, Edwin Eaves, Stetson Ferguson, Cooper Ferguson, Jamison Bowers and Hadley Joyce Junkin and a number of nieces and nephews.
Willie was born July 30, 1939 in Pine Grove, Alabama to the late William Marvin Ferguson and Nancy Jane Swedenburg Ferguson. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, a retired employee of Bosch/United Technologies in Columbus, MS with 43 years of service and a veteran of the Army National Guard.
Pallbearers will be Brian Ferguson, Triston Stevens, Ben Sims, Matthew Sims, Caleb Junkin and Kamden Sims.
Honorary Pallbearers are his great-grandsons and members of New Salem Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to New Salem Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1378, Reform, AL 35481.
