Obituary

William Arthur "Bill" Fullerton, age 95, of Stansel, AL passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa.  Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joey Lucas officiating.  Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Ruth Simpson Fullerton; his parents; sisters, Rosemond Crowder and Miriam Reeves; brothers, Rufus Barnett and Jim Fullerton; brothers-in-law, Roger, Harold and Jerry "Bo" Simpson and sister-in-law, Sybil Perry.
Survivors include his daughters, Karen Dillard (Thomas) and Cheryl Duncan (Calvin); grandchildren, Amanda Soong (Peily), Sara Thompson (Craig), Rachel Wells (Brian), Ray Dillard (Jess), Rebecca Dillard, Claire Barham (Will) and Meg Dillard; great-grandchildren, Libby and Oliver Soong, Elliott Thompson, John Wells and Lily and Dill Barham and sisters-in-laws, Gypsy Helmers (Henry) and Bonnie Kyles.
Bill was born October 2, 1928 in Dowling, Alabama to the late George William Fullerton and Maggie Pearl Ellis Barnett Fullerton.  He lived there for six months before moving to his family's farm in the center of Stansel.  Bill was a United States Air Force veteran, serving in Germany during the Berlin Air Lift.  He spent 31 years with Westinghouse in Reform before retiring to his best life.  Retirement was made for Bill as he pursued his passions of photography, writing, wood carving, gardening and being a general philosopher of life.
Bill was a lifelong faithful member of Stansel Baptist Church.  He will be greatly missed by his family for his humor and creative mind.
Pallbearers will be the Simpson Family nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ken Simpson, Ricky Findley, Joe Sudduth, Charles Byars, David Jennings, Will Earl Bouchillon, Ralph Gault and Joy Cowart
Words can't express the appreciation felt for the loving care provided by Kent VA Medical Foster Home in Sapps.  Special thanks to Tammy and Norman Kent, Juanita Colvin, Joynedda Gilkey and the Tuscaloosa staff of Dr. Nachini and nurse, Trevor and also to Dr. Honea and his staff at Pickens County Primary Care.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Bethel Cemetery, c/o Ken Simpson, 30796 Highway 17, Reform, AL 35481.
