Obituary

ETHELSVILLE | Winston Lonzo Duncan, age 77, of Ethelsville, died July 28, 2014, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends immediately following service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dorman Duncan, Claybourn Duncan and Blanford Duncan; and brother-in-law, John Bush.
Survivors include his wife, Gwen Duncan; daughter, Thomasa Fox; son, Scott Duncan; sisters, Nadine Bush and Willodean Patrick (Bruce); stepsister, Willette Blaylock; stepbrother, George Brown; two grandchildren, Christopher Fox and Corey Fox; sisters-in-law, Brenda Kelley (Wayne) and Jenita Duncan; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Duncan was born March 31, 1937 in the Liberty community to the late Harvey Alonzo Duncan and Dovie Hydrick Duncan. He was a member and deacon of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School and Training Union teacher. He was a retired employee of Omnova Solutions in Columbus, Miss. and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Stacey Bush, James Bush, Morris Adams, Israel Sudduth, Billy Ponds and Jason Sullivan.
Honorary pallbearers are employees of Omnova, Liberty High School Class of 1957, Ken Dyer, Ray McDaniel, UAB 8th floor Neuro ICU, 9th floor ICU nurses and doctors, Jenna Moyer, Elizabeth Edwards and employees of Southern Hospice, Dr. Brett Brown and Vickie, Columbus, MS Golden Triangle Internal Medicine.
